Well, is seems that nobody has a translation for the post from Tochjo. I will try to translate and post it right here. It will take a little while since I want to put it in a comprehensive translation. ;-)

Here it comes!

Animated DP (gif avatars)
After doing some experiments I came up with the following solution.
The following is needed…..

Requirements:

Windows Live Messenger (2009), Version 9 or higher. (supports gif's)

Messenger Plus! Live AdOn.

MP!L Script: Display Picture Changer

2 pictures, [more than 1] size 96x96
(sample a, sample b).

An Gif Animator (to generate animated pictures) (recommend is the following: Ulead GIF Animator v.5.1). Or 1 video with maximum 190KB in the size of 96x96 (hint: quality can be bad, audio can be deleted , saves storage) The video would only run a few seconds, like a moving picture...)

Installation:
First of all install the Windows Live Messenger.

Then install the Messenger Plus! Live Add-on and the script Display Picture Changer.
Now you should keep your pictures ready.
Now compose your own animated gif. It still has to be 96x96 and at the end it should not have more than 200 kb. Example:

    open!
    Spoiler: Show

If you want to, compose more animated pictures; at best various additional ones.

Save the pictures in a directory, for example:
C:\Users\<YOURNAME>\Pictures\DisplayPictureChanger
.

Start the Windows Live Messenger and click on the Script-Symbol.

Select: Display Picture Changer>Options.
Now select the directory to you animated pictures and type in the time. After you done this the Windows Live Messenger plays the animated pictures and changes them after X seconds.

DP (Display Picture) also called avatar.

Pay attention on how long your animated picture will be playing.
Depending on the seconds you might have to reenter the seconds in the DPC options!

In case anybody needs help or a tutorial to the Ulead Gif Animator, just let me know.

Kind regards Spongshga

Small video for DP – tutorial:
If you create a video in the size 96x96 and splitting to 190kb (splitting into multiple videos) it should always have the same interval in seconds, let's say 3 seconds for very good quality. Then you can add and convert it into an animated picture (gif), set the DPC script to 3 seconds and put it in sequence. Now you got a small video for displaying your avatar. Isn't that great xD

Translation finished!

If there is anybody who can help to correct and/or fine tune my translation and/or add things, please do so! I tried my best but even I did not understand some of the meanings. :$
