There probably are ads in of the embedded videos, like the lower third ones which slide up, and on some videos you see one at the end of the video. My point was when your watch a video on the Youtube site itself they can show you those same ads + the ones on the actual page around the video itself. So visiting the site makes them more money than embedded videos.

Uhm yes, every site can count visitors based on IP addresses. Don't see what them making money from embedded videos has to do with not creating an account though. Nobody is forcing you, only need one if you want to comment or upload your own videos.
