Do these actually work? I can't seem to get POP working for private email for my Estranged Gamers account, or my Yahoo account - I get pop ups when I get email but I don't want to keep using Yahoo messenger - I want MSN to pop up I have Yahoo email.


Any ideas? Thanks.

Yahoo mail is not POP3 so the Messenger Plus! POP3 checker will not work.

Yahoo is POP3, because I use it. Maybe its only UK

Are you using the Yahoo ISP?

No, i'm on Wanadoo UK. Its just the normal http://mail.yahoo.co.uk address and under help it tells you about pop3

You can download a program that lets you check your yahoo mail like pop3 mail.
Search the forums and your find it.

Look at Tochjo's reply to Checking other Hotmail accounts. that has the link for it, and some instructions related to setting it up.
Note: Those instructions arnt for the program for yahoo but the general pricable applies

I use Outlook and also use Msg Plus for checking it.

Right. This is the situation - it simply still won't work.

I can check my other Email now, that works fine (although when I click the email notification it loads up Yahoo Mail instead of Outlook).

I've got

Server: mail.estrangedgamers.com
Username: xxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxx
Port: 110

And that works.

My Yahoo was set up the same way, Vazza suggested trying mail.btinternet.com but that doesn't work. Should username be my Yahoo ID? Or the email (mattkbishop@yahoo.co.uk) ?  There is instructions at Yahoo Pop Settings which I tried too (pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk) but that didn't work either.

Anyone?

It may not work depending on if Yahoo provides POP3 support.


Did you set the program at the bottom to open in Outlook Express?
