O.P. Show typing message of the other person
Hi,
I was thinking here... If with the stuff plug-in we are able to know when someone open or close our conversation window, then it might be possible to know the message the other people is writing.
Does this plug-in exists? I dunno... but i think its possible to do, Am I wrong?
Thx for the attention

RE: Show typing message of the other person
You will see what the other person is typing as soon as he/she hits "send"...if you mean seeing what somebody else types to anyone else but you: thats an invasion of privacy...there is no such plugin and for the reason mentioned there will never be one.

RE: Show typing message of the other person
It cannot be seen what the other person is writing; the text will be sent only to the server after clicking the Send button. If he/she hasn't done that yet, there's no way to know what's been typed.

RE: Show typing message of the other person
If there were such a plugin, it could be terrible privacy invasion...so the answer is NO.
Whenever your contact opens/closes the conversation window, his Messenger sends a special notification to your Messenger. This is a Messenger's internal function, and the notification sends no matter StuffPlug is installed or not; StuffPlug just interprets the notification and shows it to you. When your contact is typing something to you, yes, Messenger does send another kind of notification too, but only the notification of "Typing message", not the whole message your contact's typing...

Wanna know what my contact is typing to me, but not sended yet (in real time then)
EDIT: Just read the other messages now. Thank you for the answers and sry.

RE: Show typing message of the other person
hi, i think what Firehalk means is the INITIAL chat content that is going to send to the him before the enter key is hit. this wont be an invade of privacy since the message was intented to send to you in the first place, kind of interesting
i was wondering can this be done too

RE: RE: Show typing message of the other person
Only if another application was made that hooks into the window and sends the typing info over the internet to your own receiving application, but this could be a little tricky.
In this case your other contact would need an application on their computer.
Due to the nature of this software there would be major potential security risks...

I disagree completely.
What if you type something that you don't really mean, or make a mistake, and want to rephrase it before sending? Or what if you accidentally paste some private info in the message box? Or if you just type a MsgPlus IRC command?

Yeah, in this case I agree with you, but in other cases it would be really usefull.
ICQ in the chat mode have this function, so I think its not invade of privacy.

ICQ may have this feature, but that doesn't make it not an impolite function. I have said things to a contact in that box and then decided against it...Personally I only want people to see what I have said to them directly...
