Hey, whenever i use the /me command it looks quite wierd thanks to my nick name, for example it says:

John (¯`v´¯) Cindy will be right back

Is it possible to have the /me command only use your real name? Which you could set yourself somewhere. (So for me it would just be "John".)  I dont think this would be hard to do and I think it would be even more handy for some people that have 200 letter names with 20 emoticons in them, hehe.

It's just a small idea , I didnt know if I should make a whole topic just for this, but ohwell, tell me what you all think about it .

/me2 in the shortcut keys?

What do you mean? I just tried that command (not knowing what it does) but it doesnt do anything, it doesnt work.

of cource it doesnt work... you need to make it!

go to MSN Main > Plus! > Preferences > Message Helpers

and in the BIG text box... write whatever you want... (example: Bobby Joe) and in the small box under it, type "me2" or whatever you want.  click apply or OK.  go into a conversation window.

type the command (/me2) and the text you entered will popup (bobby joe)  you can also use colour   Ctrl+K

if your planning on using your real name in a convo (i fully read your post) you can always use things like

(!NP) = your contact name.

Ok, i made that shortcut key, but first of all, it didnt even work.. I did exactly as you said, then in a conversation window i typed: /me2 is testing but the only thing that was writen was:

John (¯`v´¯) Cindy says:
John



And secondly, doing that (if it would work) isnt doing what my idea was, it doesnt change my nick name in the real /me command to my real name. This is something Patchou would have to change in the code, there's no proper way to emulate it.

And how the hell is the (!NP) command any use to me in this situation..? Don't underestimate me, I know all the commands and tags and how to use Plus! to it's fullest.

that would be such a good idea if it was do-able.... like stuffplugs chat name cos its so annoying if someone with a really long nick does it, cos then you have to work out what is theyre trying to say

Bah, just use the SPNG. Then, when you enter the /me command, it's only the chatname that's going to be displayed....

Ddunk, that still isn't quite what I was talking about. If I do that then it does this:

John (¯`v´¯) Cindy says:
John is testing

Which isn't what I want, I want it to just do this:

John is testing

(So it's not like I'm saying it, like the first example.)

Do you know what I mean now? I think Chrono and kangie do.

I would want other people to be able to choose if they want to have their /me commands do that or not.

That's too bad that Patchou still hasn't made it possible, I hope after reading this thread he will.
