O.P. problems with installing
I don't really have a problem with MsgPlus

it's with installing msn itself that I'm having problems, so I know I shouldn't be posting here, but I don't any other place where I can post my problem, so I still hopen somebody can help

because everytime I wan't to install the new msn (7.0b) I get a strange error, and then after a rewind action I get the message that the installation has failed with errorcode 1603.

Now I first thought: no problem I just reinstall 6.2, but when I try to reinstall 6.2 I just get the same error.

So I don't have any msn right now.

Anyone got the same problems or now's what 's causing them?

Thanx in advance

RE: problems with installing
1) Click Start > Run
2) Type: msiexec /unreg <enter> and wait until it appears to have finished.
3) Go back to Start > Run
4) Type: msiexec /regserver <enter>.
5) Try to install MSN Messenger 6.2 again.

it ain't working...

Could it be because I'm having a dutch version of xp so that those commands aren't working? cause they don't seem to do much...

No, Msiexec.exe should be on your OS aswell (i have dutch XP Pro myself). Have you updated your windows?

Also have you tried installing MSN messenger on the administrator account (reboot into safemode and choose the account called "administrator" to be sure it has all access)? This might work aswell.

O.P. RE: problems with installing
if I try to install in safe mode, I instantly get the same message I usually get a the end of an install, only with errorcode 1601 instead of 1603 this time...

1) Click Start > Run
2) Type: msiexec /unreg <enter> and wait until it appears to have finished.
3) Go back to Start > Run
4) Type: msiexec /regserver <enter>.
5) Try to install MSN Messenger 6.2 again.

there doens't really appears anything at all when I typ that. Also not when I type msiexec.exe /unreg.

Any idea what's causing all this strange things?

because you are dutch, I have made a screen shot from the errors I receive
first I get this one:

then after the "terugdraaiactie" (rewindaction I believe in english) I get this:

RE: problems with installing
If you have Ad-Watch enabled in Ad-aware or if you use similar programs then disable those and try to install again.

If you open AdAware, you will see AdWatch on the left..you can enable or disable it.

if you have ad-aware pro then in your system tray (right under) there's an icon referring to adwatch, you have to disable it before you can install before you can install msn (right click and then press unload adwatch)
