i tried using the transparency feature but it is grayed out, is it only for windows xp??

Yes, only NT based systems (afaik, XP, 2003, and ME?). And Windows 98 is not, so you can't use transparency on that system.

Windows Mellenium is DOS based so no. Only NT Based Operating Systems allow alphablending. So Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and "Long Horn".

I didn't exactly know if ME was included, that's why I put "?". Thanks for clearing that up!

The thing that I find weird is that NT4 was the first O/S to introduce the new technology file system(NTFS) and operating systems that support alpha blending are NT based and NT4 is NT based but doesn't support alpha blending because it still is based on DOS "i think".

Sorry Matty but Windows Me being based on DOS has absolutely nothing to do with it allowing alpha bending . Microsoft introduced this feature in Windows 2000, probably because at that time, computers were starting to be fast enough to support it, that's all. You could add alpha bending in Windows Me with yourown DLL if you wanted, you'd just have to redo what Microsoftdid for Win2k.

Really... I thought because of DOS not supporting Alpha Blending that Windows ME wouldn't support it... I guess you learn something new everyday.

Somehow the Transpaency is causing my computer to slow down to a crawl

My Specs: Pentium 4 HT 3 Ghz, and 512 MB RAM and ATI Radeon 8900 128 MB

Spyware or viruses infecting your system probably. There is no way that the transparency effect of Plus! should slow down your computer that much. I have an ATI Radeon 9000, P3m 1.3 GHz processor and 256mb of RAM and it's fine. Either that, or there might be something conflicting with the transparency effect, but I don't know what would .
