O.P. Restarting
Since last week, i've been having some problems with my computer and the internet connection. I wish i knew what is the root behind all this, but i guess I'm not too smart to know 8-|

Anyway, as any other normal day, i was using the internet, which it self haven't been acting the best with me (Those ****** ******* ISP). Out of the blue, the computer restarted, which seemed pretty normal to me since sometimes i does that by it self ( By any chance, could anyone tell me what are the reasons behind a computer restarting by itself? Just like that?). I logged in into my account and opened the internet, i stayed connected for 16 minutes and few seconds to be exact. I had to switch users to open my sister's Msn and stuff. Not mentioning the Msn problem i have that is surely connected with the stupid ISP. I got this error code that i get so many times. Although, i found some guide to get rid of it in here, but after sometime it came back and stuff. I had to disable the connection and re-conenct it. And then there was the surprise. The computer restarted :|. I didn't think it was serious at the begining but then, when i logged in again and i got that error message with msn and i had to disable and enabale and it restarted, i started to lose my mind. (If i have one).

In other words, whenever i disable/enable the internet connection through the 'local area connection' icon, the computer restarts. But, if i remove the wire that is connected to the router and out it again, things are going to be fine, regardless the fact that the computer itself might restarts by it's own without any notice.

What have i installed recently? Well, i've installed and used Diskeeper several times. It might be the reason..but it also could be not.

I used my first Configuration File just in case the problem had something to do with the router, but no. It stayed the same. And not only that, this is only happening with my computer. The Lap top is just working fine.

I have no viruses whatsover. So i don't really know how to fix this mess :'(

Anyone can help me with this? :)

RE: Restarting
My guess is something deep down has gotten screwed. I used to have an old 95 PC that would restart by itself if it was heavily loaded and you weren't moving the mouse. It would freeze, then when you moved the mouse, restart.

RE: Restarting
Are you using Windows 2000 or XP? Then disable autorestart, right click My PC > Properties > Advanced options > Startup and recovery > Configuration button > uncheck Restart automatically. If when your PC crashes instead of a restart you now get a blue screen, copy here the error type, STOP number and the parameters, i.e. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, STOP 0x0000000A, (0x00000065, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804FAC65). Maybe we can get something out of that.

Does this have anything to do with the blue screen of death?

RE: Restarting
Hi, check this out: Common Stop Messages: Stop 0x000000D1 or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

So, it's probably a faulty driver... How long has it been like this? Anything else you might have changed/installed?

Hmm it started like a week ago? The only thing that crossed my mind at that time that might have had something to do with it, was this Diskeeper program which does the defragmenting for the computer and stuff.

Anyway, i uninstalled the program. And hopefully tomoto i'll see if the problem still remains.

Thanks:)

O.P. RE: Restarting
Last time the blue screen came out i got this error:

STOP: 0x000000BE (0xB83936B5, 0x119EE121,0xF8956ACC, 0x0000000A)

tcpip.sys - Address B8393685 Base at B8390000, Dale stamp (3b7dc580)

Since then, the blue screen stopped to show up.

And now, whenever i try to diable the connection or even repair it, the connection stucks, and then i'll have to end the task. I always end up restarting from that point..

RE: Restarting
It's probably a driver error.  Go into your Device Manager and delete your drivers and reboot and see if all the drivers are refound that may be the issue.  Since you don't knoww hat the driver is...
