what's wrong with my contact list??


I'm sure it's was caused by "Messenger Plus!"
cause if I uninstall the messenger plus, everything goes fine.
what's wrong with it?
everything is fine a week ago.


Is there anyway to fix it?cause I really like messenger plus.

I figured out how to fix it~


I have to disable the "Display formatting attributes in the contact list"
it's in "Plus!"-->"Preference"--> "contact list"-->"General Options"
uncheck the option

can I ask you what Windows version you are running?

similiar problem happened to me...
but my one is a little bit minor
after i minimized my contact list and re-opened it again
the chinese on my list becomes squashy and blurry
and if i click on my contacts it would change back to normal again
also if there's any change on the list (eg. status change, ppl loggin in, i maximize another contact group) it would change back to normal
and yeah it could be solved by the way suggested by thy
but im in love with my colored nick
so...sigh...guess ill have to live with it till a update comes out...

btw its the same both in t.chinese version and english version

my os: windows xp pro sp2
msn7: build 0777

You may want to check you haven't set up Plus's language wrong.

nop~tried changing MsgPlus's language to t.chinese and has no effect
im currently using the english version msn7 now
both english and t.chinese MsgPlus didnt work

Have you tried switching your MSN Messenger to the Chinese one?

Btw, I've actually got the same problem (and same thing happens to charlie_su1986 too)...and I can confirm it has nothing to do with Messenger Plus!. That is, when Plus! is killed/uninstalled, the Chinese characters still screw up in Contact List. For now, I can live with it :p

hmm really?? well...my msn got back to normal after i uninstalled my msgplus...
and as ive said before, no matter if its the english version of msn messenger or the t.chinese version, its all the same with either the english or the t.chinese version of msgplus.

and yeah ive discovered another thing...it is t.chinese and only t.chinese....doesnt effect any other languages (well...at least not english, japenese and s.chinese on my list)

ps. checked again and thy's method (unticking the "disply formatting attributes in the contact list") really solves my problem.
