O.P. a legal question.
whenever someone asks about how to get a contacts ip. everyone just says invasion of privacy. but don't you (as the owner of your own computer) have the right to know what IP's are connected to your PC?

RE: a legal question.
It's not invasion of privacy to be able to see someone elses IP or else websites wouldnt be able to use them to ban you from their sites.
It could only be considered invasion of privacy if it was taken in a malicious way, or taken to be used in a malicious way.
It all depends on the situation, theres many different answers that you could be given as to how it is, or isnt invasion of privacy. Thats just the way law works

what no, you can choose to conntect directly ip to ip if you want, other wise it goes through an MSN server.

get a good anti-virus (Nortan or Zonealarm), use a router instead of modem?
