Now I've checked the FAQ, and it says that if sounds aren't playing, it might be caused by my status being set to busy.

However, there is a "Play sounds when my status is set to Busy" toggle in the Messenger Plus preferences menu, and I doubt it's there to be non-functional, so either there's a bug or there's something I'm doing wrong.

Because it doesn't work when i switch it on.

Does the toggle work for anyone else? What's the problem? If the toggle doesn't work why hasn't it been removed in an update?

What sounds are you talking about?

he means the built in msn sounds for when people sign in and stuff

You need to turn on all options like 'Play sounds when busy' and turn off those that say otherwise.

But I've checked the MSN options and the Messenger Plus options over and over again, and I've only found one option, "Play sounds when my status is set to Busy", and it doesn't work.

Where are the other options?

Uncheck that one.... and it should work?

I've tried both checking it and unchecking it, but it doesn't make a difference. MSN still goes silent when I set to busy, and it's very annoying.

Then check Messenger's own settings
