Whenever i use the BBCode in a chat, on my name, or in my message, my contacts see the BBCode instead of the effect of it (i.e. the color, bold, strikethrough, etc.) What do I need to do? I don't have any patches installed. This is not a problem with me seeing their colors, but with them seeing mine.

its probably because your contacts dont have plus installed... ask them if they have, when not you have an answer for your problem

They have to have plus installed to see colors? I'm not using ColorNick or anything, just using it right through Plus.

To be more precise, they need Plus! Live to be installed. This also means they need to have Windows Live Messenger and thus Windows XP.

The BBCodes aren't interpreted by Plus!3, only by Plus!Live.

If you want your contacts, which use Plus!3, to see your colors you need to change the color format to IRC-style:
Plus! Preferences > Customize! > Main > Enable text formatting shortcuts
and choose:
Plus! Preferences > Customize! > Main > Use IRC style format codes

Now you can use the IRC-style color format codes by using the shortcuts (CTRL+K, CTRL+B, etc)

I think it's WLM(Microsoft)team's job to make it compatible but I know it's not possible in the near future.

No it isn't: the colour codes are a Plus! feature.

So people who use the old plus cant see new plus colours? Can new plus people see old plus colours?
