Every time i try to install it i keep getting an error message saying,

"Windows Vista Service Pack 1 cannot be installed because it does not apply to your system"

can anyone help me fix this problem?

What OS are you running atm?

Windows Vista Ultimate (6.0.6000)

Don't know then sorry (you'd be amazed by the amount of people who asked me that whilst running XP so its practically routine I ask that back lol)

Where are you downloading it from?

i didn't download it the exe was given to me by a friend  and it installed on his just fine, he never told me where he got it.

Is it "Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) Release Candidate (RC)" ?

If so, you can download from the Microsoft site here or Windows Update.

I know you already have it, but it's probably best you download it from the correct place, so hopefully you won't receive any errors.

well its just the service pack its self the file is about 700meg and the file name is "windows6.0-kb936330-x86'

It's probably not compatible with your computer.

From what Google tells me, x86 is Intel and x64 is AMD.

HAHA x86 means 32 bit and x64 is 64 bit i got the 86x version because my OS is a 32 bit one
