Hey guys,

today I just signed in on msn and noticed that for some reason all my contacts were blocked.

then i noticed that i had 27 adds (from people that already were on my list)

I added them thinking it was nothing.

Then all of a sudden i got signed out and when i reconnected everyone was deleted???

Can someone help me out here?

If your contacts appear to be still deleted, here's what you got to do.
If your contacts are deleted and blocked you...
1. Go on MSN
2. On the Menu Bar click on Tools, then click Options
3. Go to the Privacy Tab
4. On the right, you will see people on your blocked list which indicates they were blocked. Right click on the contact's name and select Move to Allow List.
5. On the left, you will see people on your allowed list, right click the same contact you moved and select Add To Contacts
6. Repeat this procedure for all of your contacts

If you didn't block the contact you deleted, go to Tools, Options, Privacy, Allowed list, right click on the contact's name, Add To Contacts.

something went seriously wrong with your account. I suggest to report it ASAP to the Windows Live Messenger support team, so this doesn't happen again:

from the menus, select:
> I can sign in, but something needs to be fixed
> Working with contacts or contact groups
> disappearing contacts

Also, give as much details as possible. Steps you did take. Things you did before this issue happened. How frequently it happens. That you're automatically signed out, etc...

yeah looks like i had to manually re-add everyone...

Is this a server issue or something to do with my msn?

I guess a server issue, but can't realy know though.

Contact support nevertheless, such things shouldn't happen, ever.

Same thing happend to me a few weeks ago. The same time i got a worm on my e-mails. So check that out just incase.

what did you do to remove that worm broken hearts?

thats what i think I have...

probably just a virus scan with latest definitions

i didnt remove it. virus scans have never picked anything up. but its been 4 weeks and i havent had a problem since so it may just be that its passed through your acount and moved on to the next one.

or it might have just been msn messing up. I had spam e-mails sent out to my contacts at the same time so unless you had that as well i should think that its probably just msn messing up a bit.

probibily conincidence that both happend at the same time on mine

yeah it happened to me again today -_-

then my inbox was filled with failed message sent emails.

It's definitely to do with a worm.  Virus scans aren't picking it up.

Just hope it passes through.
