O.P. RE: Compatibility with Messenger 2009 Beta
Thank you very much Patchou! :)

One question though:

The user interface looks a bit broken & way too big (especially the event notification toasts)... is this because it is a beta version? Or is there something wrong with either my PC or the build of Messenger Plus Live?

Also, the buttons do not have text on them lol, so I don't know what I'm pressing half the time...

Do other people get these problems?

The toasts are roughly the same size as the WLM toasts, this is for consistency for the user.  The other interfaces need to be their size because of the amount of features and the allocation for extra space so the interfaces don't need to be changed for other languages.

I think there might be something wrong with you language file.  You could try re-installing MP!L

@Nathan & markee:

Thank you for the help, I have found out the problem :(

I use a small program called GDI++ which makes Windows Vista's font rendering just like Mac OS X (it looks beautiful :P) I have just disabled it & Messenger Plus Live's interface looks just as it should! :D normal!

The only problem is... I love GDI++ & after disabling it & seeing how horrible my Windows font rendering now looks, I don't know if I can live without GDI++ enabled (just like I can't live without Messenger Plus Live :D).

So basically I'm saying Messenger Plus Live is incompatible with GDI++ :(

Would you still like me to post screenshots? Does anybody, Patchou included, know if this is fixable at all?

Yeha posting a screenshot as a reference would be great. Patchou can have a look at it and see if it's easy enough fix - and maybe implement the fix for the next version(s).

Not promising anything though.
:)

The reason I can't live without GDI++ (lol):

My system with GDI++ enabled:

My system without GDI++ (notice the font renderring looks horrible - Windows Vista's default):

IMO the changes made by GDI++ arent that great, and with like a little time you could get used to vistas default font again. However we might as well see if there is a fix for this first before having you switch programs/stop using programs :)

Instead of using gdi++, try this:

Have you tried it on your computer yourself? My screenshot is horrible & blurry, but if you tried it yourself, there's a good chance you would change your mind ;)
