Hi

I have MSn Live messenger 8.5. The problem is I cannot hide my webcam. I did uncheck "Allow others to see my webcam" million times but still not working.. Please help

When you check that option you still see it but others talking with you do not.

I downloaded the latest version of Windows Live Messenger today, despite having "Allow others to see my webcam" unchecked, it's still showing people.

I know it always shows the fact that you have a webcam, until your own display picture, but others have been inviting me to view webcam. It's built in, I can just say no.. Surely the whole point of being able to hide it is so that you're not constantly being asked to go on?

Any suggestions?

Which I have now done (I wasn't aware of the disable option), I do use the webcam from time to time though, the fact that I will now have to go back in and enable it when I want to use it.

Also, even with the cam disabled, it still apparently shows the symbol to other people.

i have this problem but the funny thing is... i dont have a webcam plugged in... and never have... though it still shows my webcam icon to the world ;o

Also have that problem... after installing Camtasia video capturing suite =P
When you accept an video invitation, my "webcam" just display a black nothing.

Believe, it's really annoyng... =X

in skinning, at least it is pretty good to check how does webcam icons look...
