In that case it could be a good idea to look on the router's manufacturer's website for a firmware upgrade that could contain an option for WPA. Many of the firmware upgrades for older routers seem to now allow WPA support for their intended router.
Also make sure the drivers for your computer's networking card allows and supports WPA (again downloading up to date drivers for them will likely have an option for WPA support)
