So, I leave a comeback message for someone.
As you have known, the message will be sent and gone from Plus!'s registry for that particular contact.
What I want is, the comeback message is retained after the contact goes online and offline.
That makes me need not to re-enter the message.
Thanks.
If i understand you correctly you want to send the same message to the same person everytime he/she comes online when you are online.
This is not possible with the comeback message (these are deleted after beeing sent once) nor have i found another way to achieve what you want with any other Plus! feature.
If this is soleley for you to see if he/she is online so you won't forget to message then you can set a different Notification Sound for when he/she comes online, this way you will recognise it's that person without having to check the contactlist (providing you got speakers on and are within hearing range ofcourse). Another possibility would be to place him/her on desktop.
To the other helpers:
If you don't know what the poster is asking then either ask what he/she means or do not post at all...do not jump to assumptions or turn help threads into chat threads.
Automessage is triggered by an action/message (from the contact)..it's not triggered by someone coming online. Same goes for e-mails, these are not triggered when a person comes online..so not what poster is asking for. Offlines aren't the answer either as he would still have to type em out every time.

O.P. RE: Comeback Message
My intention of keeping the comeback message is to make the conversation window opened automatically everytime the contact goes online

Which is not the purpose of the come-back message (or any other option) as said before by raceprouk in the first reply in this thread.
Moreover, (and what I wanted to add to raceprouk's and Sunshine's post), it is EXTREMELY annoying for the contact if he constantly gets a message whenever he logs in. Therefore such an option or request to keep the come-back message after it has been sent is a big no-no as far as I'm concearned.
What you need is an addon or plugin which simply opens an (empty!, aka: new) chat window when someone comes online.
(grrr at the other 8 posts which made this thread hard to follow, confussing, etc...)

Yes.
You might find this amusing .
The contacts I meant were my mom and my sister.
Yes, you are reading this correctly.
They are my dearest mom and my dearest sister.
Since both of them are _seldom_ online, they need to know that I'm actually online when they are signed in.
So, I know for sure that the comeback messages I regularly send will not annoy them at all.
Of course, I won't send comeback messages to other contacts (i.e. friends).
I hope you clearly understand why I asked this ridiculous question/help now .

Ideally, yes
Can this be done through scripting when Plus! Live is available?
To be honest, my concept of Plus! Live's scripting is still blurry. quote: Originally posted by CookieRevised

Please forgive them
Actually hypedupmonkey guessed correctly.

This is not what you need in that case.... If they need to know if you're actually online you shouldn't use any automated plugin or addon; you need to tell them yourself in person.
Because, otherwise, how would they know if it is actually you and not the automated script answering in your place when you are not behind your PC?
If they just need to know if you have the status "online" (or one of its decendants) then why don't they simply look at your status? Again, no automated thingie needed for that...
Also, because of what you described, I said you need an addon which opens a conversation window, which you agreed upon apparantly. But simply automatically opening a converstion window on your msn messenger will again not let them know if you are online or not...
So, if what you want is what you described in your first post here, then you need an addon which automatically opens a new conversation window on your msn messenger.
If what you want is what you described in your last post, you don't need (even: you shouldn't use) any automated script or whatever at all...

What you are saying are so true.
But I think you need to know my Internet habit
First, I don't let my PC turned on when I'm not using it (energy conservation rocks and saves a lot of money )
Second, I sometimes have many windows open when I am doing something, so I rarely check my contact list.
Note that I do have their names as my desktop contacts and it is set to "always on top".
And... my sister has "so many contacts" (/me rolls his eyes at his sister), so she almost never checks if I'm online or not.
A conversation window that shows up on my taskbar will definitely help me know that one of them goes online, unless there's a way to keep the popup window appears all the time before it gets clicked on, like the scheduler's popups.

It seems to be the best solution.

RE: Comeback Message
a problem with having it open a new window when someone signs in is it would be likely that it wouldbecome the active window and so you are typing and suddenly it changes to your mum's conversation and you send her info you dnot want her to see (eg: porn links or stuff meant for your girlfried )
BUT
without the window coming to the active window you wont know it has been opened.

RE: Comeback Message
So now you're saying you want:
1) that you know when your family is online.
2) that your family knows you're online.
(which is again different from both previous things you've said )
In that case, why don't you and your family simply set a special notification sound for when you or your family comes online (and even goes back offline or any other status for that matter) together with using the (always on-top) desktop contacts? (I know I do it that way for those "special" friends of mine, and I always know when they are online or not, no matter how many windows I have opened or whatever I'm doing on the PC )
Just opening a new chat window, in this last case you've described, just to see if someone is online is not a good solution. eg: it clutters up your task bar with an otherwise useless window, if they go back offline you wont notice it, etc...

Wait.. wait..
How could it be different?
I am just "using" comeback message to get what I need since that's the only way possible of doing that.

Yes, I also have notification sounds for them, but it's not that effective because sometimes the sign-in sound gets "swallowed" with the music I play on my computer .
And I guess cluttering my taskbar gets my attention more since we don't have the best solution for now.

According to your first explaination:
- You to be notified (with a new opened convo) when someone signs in.
According to your second explaination:
- You want others to be notified when you come online.
According to third, last explaination:
- You want to be notified when someone signs in.
- And you want others to be notified when you come online.

Then use a sound which is louder then normal as a notification sound (works for me when I play music).
