The office icon would usually mean the user is on federated access (aka Office Communicator via Live Communications Server or Office Communications Server).
The Yahoo icon for Yahoo IM contacts will show up there too.
It showing up for random users is just a server screw-up as already said but I at least I heard through the grapevine this morning that it was "being looked into" (as always)

No. It is just some thing Microsoft has put on. We don't know what exactly it is but certainly it is not virus so don't worry!

lol seems like Microsoft is taking a toll on its Friday the 13th bad luck.
