He means that the card is nott being allowed to work to its full potential, it is running at the lcd, whick is the 1x pci slot.

But, an AGP card wont fit in a PCI slot (AFAIK). If the slot is white, are there lots of identical slots next to it?

Try it please, you may have confused yourself between PCI/AGP, or not.

Tell us if the program tells you, if you have an AGP slot, then your card will run 8x faster.

It won't necessarily run 8 times faster, but it'll be able to use 8 times the bandwidth available to PCI. There will still be a big leap in raw performance though.

If so you could have PCI-E OR AGP.
