Meh, you already played the original game, so you know what's going on at all times... all you need the translation guide for is the items. And you get to see the new cutscenes too, though those are in Japanese, but there's voiceovers on english on youtube.

I have played KH1 Final Mix, KH: Chain of Memories (GBA), KH2: Final Mix, and a bit of the DS one with Roxas (Birth By Sleep?)

On KH2: Final Mix I still haven't beaten Enigmatic Soldier .

On a related note, I have Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in a .gi format, and I don't know how to extract it I've tried GI to ISO things on google but it didn't work

Try to rename the file as a .zip, .rar or .ace and extract them with WINRAR or 7Z.
