The error was: 8 @ rtf2xml-> Type mismatch
I get this everytime I try to change my nickname using ColorNick...
If I reload it I get
quote: Run-time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument
I'm using windos 98 SE (Spanish) and last ColorNick version (2.0.630)

I think you aren't looking at the correct window... (like benjyrama -> http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=27...=270613#pid270613).
This is the Preferences window, and you're using the "auto-coloration" feature. The usual window (the one in my screenshot) can be shown thanks to the command: /xcolornick. But, as you probably enabled this auto-coloration feature, please disable it before trying /xcolornick : uncheck the checkbox next to the tab title in the Preferences.
All the commands can be found in the "Plus! -> Plugins -> Colornick" menu of each conversation window. You have also a /xcolornickhelp command showing the readme file (version >2.0.630 only)

I think there's a bug.
See screenshot attached.
(I meant, the gradient options are not shown correctly).

strange
It isn't only the gradient options, it's ALL the gradients of the interface
These gradients are created with the standard gdi32 library from Windows, and I think the code is OK (nobody else seems to have the problem). It's perhaps a memory problem? How many RAM have you got...? You were perhaps running too many programs at the same time...?
You can also try restarting Windows, starting MSN and see if the problem is still there. If it is, ok there is a bug

Restarted and the problem's still there.
Windows version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Version: 6.2.0133
Messenger Plus! version: 3.01.0094
RAM: 384MB
Processor: PIV 2.40 GHz
I was using Polygamy, but not many progs at the same time.
BTW, I've done Catalan translation for ColorNick. Do I have to post it here, or what?

The problem may come from Polygamy; try closing all MSN Messengers and use the old Windows Messenger (if it works in WinMessenger, it's probably polygamy ). Else... we'll see.
About the Catalan translation : first, thank you for translating it; please email me your MSN address (colornick -at- tiscali.fr). There are other things to translate, and it's better to communicate with MSN Messenger

RE: NEW: ColorNick v2 !!! the ultimate nickname editor
For a strange reason I can't remember now, I uninstalled the old Windows Messenger so I can't test it.
But if you need, I can re-download it .

New version 2.0.705 :
- Added Spanish translation thanks to Pedro
- Added Catalan translation thanks to Tarry
- Added "known limitations" section to the readme file
If you already have ColorNick you can use the update feature (in the Preferences window), else you can download it from http://crespel.chez.tiscali.fr
