you should of read this forum before downloading 2011.  as Sunshine has stated there should be a 4.9 version that works with 2011. posted soon.  im to lazy to type anymore but going bzck to 2009 may require you to use Zapmessenger however i dunno if it will work with 2011 http://www.jonathankay.com/

No, in 99% you can just uninstall Live Essentials without any problem (Contol Panel -> Add/Remove Software). After that you can download 2009 and install it.

ZapMessenger should be the very last resort when uninstalling the normal way doesn't work (because of corrupted/missing files for example).

i thought when someone installed a new version ( that being 2011 and wanting to go back to 2009 ) it would require removing all traces of 2011 by using Zapmessenger.

Nah, just uninstalling (and probably a reboot) will do.

*phew* uninstalled fine. reinstalled. I'm back to normal.

FYI: Going back to your working 2009 messenger with Plus!
