my msn wil not open , the event ID is 78 , does anyone know how to solve  this ? Thanks in advance

No, the solution for error 78 is the same: as you cans see, this user resolved by following the same procedure.

In fact, it's the same problem related to Microsoft Virtual Studio Runtime:

- error 78 is about a conflict between two versions of a manifest installed;

- error 33 is about a missing manifest;

The solution is the same: a clean installation of MSVRT. Remove all versions (2005, 2008, 2010), clean the registry and reinstall version 2008 + SP1 or only 2010.
