O.P. Wrong window size/skin with printscreen
Hi,

I discovered this accidentally - I wanted to share the content of my EventViewerWindow. So I opened it and hit ALT+PrintScreen.
I instantly pasted it into a chatwindow - realising just then that weirdly enough there is an extra line visible from the background above the EventViewerWindow.
I suppose this means, that the actual skin of the window contains some transparent pixels at the top. In this case there was no problem, but it could have been sensitive data behind the EventViewerWindow.

Attached is a screenshot.

This has always been the case because that is where the frame from Windows would actually be shown. Nothing can be done to correct this.

Remember it's not exclusive to Plus! (A) Even Window's Snipping Tool has the same "problem".

Which is why I said "even", not "too". (A)

It is not just even Windows Snipping Tool which has this problem, every screen copying program which would copy the window frame would probably show the same result.

Because this is how custom-drawn windows, using custom/non-standard frames, are drawn in Windows. As such the copied window is the correct size though.

The real and rectangular (old style) frame of the window is hidden/transparant, and it is always bigger than the custom drawn borders. It also allways contains the (old style) title bar and sometimes even the space for where the (old style) menu bar would have been. So yeah, especially the space above can be quite substantial.

As such, yeah, I suppose copying underlying data unintentionally might be a 'problem' with such custom-drawn windows if you don't know about it.

Personally I never paste directly to Messenger, but first into a graphics program (could be even MS Paint), just for a quick check to make sure I've copied the correct window (and indeed if nothing is there which I don't want).

cool...

Though, it does it probaby by removing the transparant parts from the image after it has been copied from the screen and then cropping it. I mean, the screenshot wouldn't be the real window size as reported by Windows. Of course, this is not a problem for its intended purpose of course, on the contrary. It just that it doesn't contradict what was said above.
