O.P. Messenger Plus! Online Logs issue
I have an annoying issue that keeps happening, consistently, dealing with Online logs. And I learned something new about it today.
I leave my laptop on all day, every day. Even when I carry it around. So it gets disconnected and reconnected from wireless networks often, depending on the day. So I get these "Online logs have not been saved, do you want to save them?" messages. Until now, I always chose "yes". However, if I choose yes, by the time I click the last one, WLM completely freezes. This has happened a lot, and I'm thinking of just turning online logging off, for that very reason. I learned something new, though. If I click no, then WLM freezes for a few seconds, and then it's as if I'm logged on without being logged on. My PSM is gone, the people in my contact list are apparently "not in my contact list" I have a picture I can show that displays exactly this behavior.
In any case, here are the steps to reproduce it. All I know is it is reproducible with wireless networks:
1. Connect wirelessly to any network
2. Make sure Online Chat Logging is on.
3. Chat a bit, then shortly thereafter disconnect from wireless.
4. reconnect to wireless network (For me, it was never the same one)
5. Choose "yes" on the "some logs could not be uploaded" message.
Result: WLM freezes
WLM Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.416)
Messenger Plus! version 5.000.00.702
Windows 7 Home Premium (Version 6.1.7600)
PS: Yes, I know there is an updated version of Windows Live Messenger, but I'd prefer not to upgrade unless I know it's good. I've gotten bad reviews of it. =(
