I can't make the sounds work, it just displays stuff like

[Messenger Plus! Sound] - Data{1D9C07D20BE1} - Heavy says yes    

Hi, no problems with sounds that I am aware of right now.

Which version of Messenger Plus! for Windows are you using?  Which version of Windows Live Messenger?

Also, if you don't mind, you can send me a private message and indicate your geographical region and what time of the day these problems occurred (is it all the time or just certain times of the day?)

I really don't see any of that being the cause. Plus! isn't parsing the message properly it seems.

Unrelated question but can I do something about the ads below chats aside from clicking the "X" everytime someone starts a chat with me? I remember in my XP version it was not there.

Actually, is it just possible to go back to my xp version? It worked so much better all around

The ads below the chat Window come from Microsoft, not from Plus!

Regarding the problem with the sounds, there is no known issue with the  sound server.  Perhaps you have SweetIM or something else that is interfering with Plus!

What could interfere with plus?

Also can I get rid of the "windows live suggestion" window that pops up when I start the messenger program?
