O.P. how to attach a screenshot?
How can I attach a screenshot while IM'ing?
when I paste it, it shows up on the right of the conversation, but can't figure out how to include/send it.

Turn off photo sharing. You'll be able to send it as a file. WLM will only send a reduced resolution shared photo otherwise ;)

Right, just looked into it and it seems there is no option. However, Messenger Plus! can override the behaviour through the registry.

If you're comfortable editing the registry:

Messenger Plus! Live (Version > 4.83)
HKCU\Software\Patchou\Messenger Plus! Live\your@email.com\Preferences

Messenger Plus!(Version 5.x)
HKCU\Software\Yuna Software\Messenger Plus!\Windows Live Messenger\your@email.com\Preferences

Create a new DWORD called OverrideImgTransfer and set the value to 1

If you're not comfortable editing the registry, I can create a .reg file for you to double-click, however I'll need to know whether you are using version 4 of Plus! or version 5 and the e-mail address you use to sign-in.

Never post your e-mail in public, you can send me a private message. The only reason I need it is because it is part of the registry path and I cannot create the file without it

The only other option I know of really is to save the screenshot into an image editor such as paint and then send the image file. From the research I did just on this forum, it appears that Photo Sharing tries to automatically intercept pasted image data, but not necessarily file transfers

I take it you need to give it a specific name too? :chrongue:

Thanks, I thought I put that in. I was being distracted by children. Children as far as the eye can see... :p
