There is already an auto-update feature in Plus!. It was improved in version 2.21.57, which was the latest version before 2.50 was released. It checks for updates every one week, I believe.

So people who use 2.21.57 are bound to get an auto-update notification sooner or later.

You could also go to Plus! > About > Check for updates

If you're using 2.50.
