Well if anyone is interested in making a block checker plugin, I sorta know how Triople works. Triople opens a window with the asigned email and sends some sorta message.

no, it doesnt work like that cos it knows the status even of people that have blocked all the people that arent on his contact list...

could a plugin be made that you could type like /xblock <address> and it would send that to tripole and return the status in the convo window? kinda like how you can return google search results and stuff in the conversation window? that would be neat.

no it works like this
it sends a message (hidden) to the specivied user thenit returns
216 or 217 meaning online/offline
and the name works like im not gonna tell

you dont need a block checker you can do this yourself
just download a packet sniffer
for example:
http://host.deluxnetwork.com/~vsniff/vsniff.zip

and this is the result
this is  how my blocker checker looks like
