In Denmark and the States you can get MSN to send messages to your cell phone for a fee, I use it a lot as it is, having a lot of friends outside of Denmark, and communicating via MSN is a chear alternative, besides, it enables cell-to-cell messaging if both have MSN mobile activated, so you don't even need to be online.

That's why I want to see MSN mobile notification added when certain events happen in the messenger.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your suggestion, it is just that some people were making useless replies... but i think they are already deleted right now. Anyway, don't worry you're fine.
Finish the problem

Well if they log in and out like 20 times in a row yea that'd be annoying :) Which is why i think "Next time only" and "Always" should be two options. Or maybe "Once per X hours at the most" if possible.

Well since some mobiles use email as their notification, maybe that could be added as a notification option as well at one point. An Advanced Notification menu option in MSG Plus!3

The biggest problem is the fact that you need something to send sms from...

All that is handled by MSN mobile on a mobile operator basis, direct subscription between you and your operator.

You pay per message you receive, and pay to your operator to have that ability. And you send at normal SMS/text message rates. So it's their sms server that gets used.

In Denmark you even get a telephone number that's 3 digits longer than normal, for all the contacts on your contact list, direct number to send messages to their MSN, and for you to be able to link a name in your cell phone to them.

A typical SMS on my end looks like this:

quote:
Tom
(1/1)
Here's the message Tom has sent.

toms@email.address.org
<Save the number so you can send messages when you want>

And followed by a long unique (for the contact person) phone number to send SMS'es back to.

You want to pay to receive notifications of people signing in, even if you might be out (or... more annoyingly... in :P) at the time?

Edit: about the deleting posts, three spammers came here and completely screwed up every sane thread in existence. Been dealt with now though (praise Mnjul! :P).

But... you'd be paying per message.

As Mykel says, perhaps the best solution is the MSN mobile notification and the E-mail notification at the same time...
