O.P. Programming section?
ive notised we have quite a lot of very good programmers here and people have been asking programming questions so i was wondering if we could have a programmin section in messenger and technology or something 
and ill even go as far as moderate it 
what do you think ?

I thinks it's a very good idea , but I think it has been requested and rejected many times before, beacause there would be other specialisations required which may evolve into server load (like the Spanish support forum *cough*).

I think its a good idea too, but i think most people who want programming help soon end up posting in the plug-ins section, where I for one always try to give a helping hand, alot of which i just do over msn, which is why im now stuck with a full contact list i cant do anything with. Anyway, thats off topic, like the idea jwb.

No, there's been the slight idea for long time to do a Spanish support forum for MP! But it's been always dismissed because maybe other languages could claim another forum for them.
So if you want a programming forum maybe tomorrow someone else wants a design forum and a hardware forum, which is not the point.

I don't see any need for more forums. it's just more work removing spam from extra threads that could be nicely placed in Tech Talk. Unless you think we should name it Tech Talk & Programming?
The Spanish thing is another issue. Minaly cause it would be chrono in charge of it. 
Seriously, it would mean opening other language forums (dutch, french, etc..) being requested and that would bring up the whole "who mods what" debate. |

There have been several requests for programming forums over the last few months, and the general feeling seems to be that although it would be a good idea, it just isn't possible.
Ie: Should it be just for MSN Messenger/Messenger Plus! programming, or extend to web programming etc? Should it be placed on the forum index, in Tech Talk or somewhere else? Would a new forum be one too many?
I see some advantages to a programming forum, but doubt it's realistically possible...unless we do Johnny_Mac's suggestion and rename Tech Talk. |

This is a Messenger (Plus!) forum. The Tech Talk and General Chit Chat is as far is it should go. If you need programming help, there are lots and lots and lots of other messageboards out there...
