what do you want to log? conversations or events? if it's conversations, you can enable the logging feature and each 1, 2 days or 1 week or 1 month or the time you want... you can delete chats you don't want to save.

if you're talking about events... currently that can't be done. either you save all the events (of all of your contacts) or you don't save any.

the only way i think it could be done is: make a program (it can be a pluging but that's not needed) that opens the file with the saved logs and deletes the lines that have the email of the people you don't want log events...

Doing such program isn't very complex but it's very boring [edit] and the program may not work well, if, for example, someones (who you want to save logs) changes his/her name to the email of other person who you don't want to save logs [/edit]

Inspired by the newest feature in Plus! 3, auto-logging the chats for selected contacts, I think it is fair to bring this suggestion up again .

So, Patchou, auto-logging the event log for selected contacts?
I'm tired of deleting contacts' events that I don't want to have .

yes... that and furthermore, logs aren't saved as soon as someone says something. They are saved at given intervals. That's the main reason why I said "no".

good point

sounds an interesting feature but i dunno if it would be possible. i see cookie certainly believes it cant be done so i guess it cant.
