i think it's a good thing having an elite group 8not only here, but in all forums). It's a group of people who, not being mods ('cause we don't need 15 mods) are people who helps and in who other members (like noobs) can trust in.
if i go to a forum and ask for something, i'll trust more the answer of a person in an elite group than the one of just a 2500-post member...  I hope you get my view.

I don't mean they allways know more, if someone belongs to the elite group that means something like s/he is like a more experienced member, not just a spammer that got 2000 posts in a couple of months....

it's something like Dane's Support group. Maybe they don't have moderator right in the forum but why are they in the support group and they aren't just normal members? Being elite is like a distinction given to that person:
