well today i opperated a window wordeddition for workgroups version 3.11 that was made in like 1993

Windows 1.1
Release date:    1985
Media size:    Five 360 KB 5.25 inch floppy disks
Installed size:    Less than 1 MByte
Usability:    Small: no icons for executable programs, no program groups, no real multitasking, but better than MS-DOS only

    Start of the Microsoft Windows 1.01 setup program, running on a MS-DOS 5.0 operating system. The most modern graphic card was a EGA (Enhanced graphic adapter) with more than 64 KByte RAM, capable to display 16 colours on a 640*350 pixel resolution.

    Information about the needed floppy disks (five 360 KByte 5.25 inch floppy disks) and technical specifications.


    Pointing device selection (different kind of mices, light pens and joysticks).


    Graphic adapter selection. Support was available for CGA (monochrome), Hercules (monochrome, high-resolution) and EGA (4 to 16 colours at 640*350 pixels).


    Request to insert the next setup floppy.


    Printer selection. 19 different models were available.

    Port selection for the choosen printer device.

    Finished setup and installation.

All I remember is that the "desktop" was a whole bunch of folders.

Would have to be either Windows 3.11 or windows for workgroups (ver 1.12)
