Well about 5 months ago, my friend and myself put together some left-over computer parts and installer a (cracked) copy of Windows Server 2003, which I have decided to delete and replace with a copy of Windows 2000 running the Apache Web Server. The spec.s of the server are:

Intel SCeleron 733 mhz Processor
384 MB of Ram (not sure the type)
24x CD-RW/42x CD Reader
10 GB HD (wow...big isn't it? )
16mb ATI Radeon Video Card with integrated coolant system

I have had several ideas which I later decided against...do you guys have any LEGITIMATE ideas...I could even rent it out if you guys want to rent it from me, it would be cheap


Right now it's just sitting there...it's not even plugged in....I have a firewall and everything for it too


Edit: Here's a picture...don't you feel sorry for it? Sure it's a bit older, but no server deservers this...it should be hosting data for millions to see.....()

Average for a server...

Personally I'd use Linux Redhat over a Windows 2000 that's running the Apache Web Server...The windows server 2003 can be dodgy if it's cracked, with hackers mainly...

Well yes, but I said it's left-over parts, didn't I? I mean I have to say it's a prety good server getting the spare parts for free and buying a $20 NIC

Well I would prefer to keep it on the Windows side for compatibility because when it's not in use I would like to have it as a secondary PC....I am planning on buying a 19" LCD monitor in the fall, so the one I'm using can go over to the server, along with my old mouse and some random keyboard I can get for, what, $10 or $20

A host for all the plugins for Plus! 3.

Perhaps that way there will be a up to date, organised database.  Nothing against you guys...

I thought about that, but decided not to bcz of the need for a main site aswell, arising the need for a second server or web hosting, along with a domain name.
