O.P. Password Protection for Folders?
Is there any program that password protects Folders?  Something like what is used to password protect the chat logs for Plus!  I've done "some" searching on the net, but I have come up with no such program.  If anyone knows of one, please post a link to it.  Thanks...

You can already do it in windows.  Only downfall is you can still see what files are in there but you can not open them. But to get around that you can put a zip in a zip and then password the zip in the zip.

The file has alot of stuff in it, I dont feel like putting it into one huge zip file, because that is pointless.

Patchou, if you read this, what do you use for the passwords on the chat logs?

i have looked all over the net for a program that does that..i have found several..but they all require to get registered to be used after a few days, and they all make a "backup" folder of what you encrypt somewhere on your computer for safe keeping in case you lose your password, so they arent that good. i was wondering how patchu encrypts the chat logs..but i havent found any way to do something like that yet

Plus! doesn't do password-protection of folders... it actually encrypts each individual file. In other words, it changes the original file and replaces it with an encrypted version, and the only way to decrypt it is by using MsgPlus. I think that's quite a difference from "password protection for folders" :p

As for encryption programs, the one linked to from that PC World article looks good (http://axcrypt.sourceforge.net/) and it's free. More free ones can be found at http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/security/fwencrypt.html.

what is the program plus! uses to encrypt a single file at a time? that is kinda useful at some instances, and i am sure it will be fun to mess around with :)
