is there a plugin or tool which would let me change my name on an email addy that aint varified??

I don't think that's possible because the nick is storeds in the server ans it's the server who allows or not a nick change. However there's a plugin that let's you talk to each contact with a different nick. Maybe it works with non-verified email addresses. Search it
