When You Uninstall Infopen Pro [ off mess.be ] it screws up messenger!

i installed it to have a look @ the features.... and it slowed my system down.. alot...  so..  i tryed to uninstall it...

all looked ok..  all looked good...

until i restarted my computer and ran messenger.



i get this error:

note: this is when i run msnmsgr.exe

so that totaly stops messenger from eaven starting.

i have found a way to get it to run, but i still get error messages when starting!

to get it to run i changed the name of some vp.dll file in the messenger dir.

i changed it to

the program runs, but you still get another error:

and that pops up about 30 times....

now... if any1 else has tryed uninstalling it yet, and it actually worked..  it would be useful to know as i havent tryed uninstalling it on any other system apart from my own.

You should probably un-install MSN Messenger and then Re-install it.

Infopen tricks MSN into thinging that you need INK and probably edits some files that MSN Messenger uses. Then un-installs them when it un-installs.

uninstalled & reinstalled, still get the errors!

Well , Did you change the VP.DLL_ back to VP.DLL?

InfoPenIM.exe is still running!

*kills the process*

messenger starts fine now...

wtf is this ****

all i did was Start > Program files > InfoPen > uninstall and rebooted.
Is that how u did it?

thats exactly what i did

the uninstaller didnt delete a startup entry in the registry for InfoPenIM.exe, and also didnt delete over 1.5mb of the infopen pro files.

wonder what else it left sitting on my system...

so far i have found:

- a 'My InfoPenMSN' folder in my docs

- Registry Entries:

i'm not sure how relavent the last registry address is... its got the words 'InfoPenMsnPRO' in it tho

It seems that you didn't uninstall InfoPen at all... Try to install it again, reboot, and uninstall it again...

btw, there is no vp.dll into the original messenger directory...
