maybe the companies that distribute the toolbar get a discount on their advertising contract with those annoying "relavant" text ads.... thatz my theory at least

they pay to show up in the google database, and per click google gets money i think... if you place google ads on your site you get a small part of that money

The relevant text ads are in a way free until someone clicks on it. So if you clicked an ad for "the best PC game in the world", the makers of that game would have to pay for that click. (Keep clicking them lol and see their bill go up   )

Oh, well, I read yesterday Google's gonna create a new IM. Something like Google-Messenger. Go figure.

Cool... hey...Googlishplus!, now that would be funny to see

Oh, the IM is not developed by Google themselves, atm, but by some Indian company.

Yeah. Google are trying to compete with MSN and Yahoo so it seems...however they are a little late to compete, MSN and Yahoo are old names known by every internet user for Instant Messaging and E-Mail to suit.
Google are the most well known for their search engine. However I do not think people will use their IM client, if all your friends are on MSN and can't be pestered to switch you're not likely to switch...

I like Google, always have and probably always will,  but I think they may be biting off more than they can chew with all these new services, only time will tell...
