I have found this very interesting and convincing article about the Google Cookie. It susposibly records every thing you search for and then more. It's got me wondering about Google. Is it really safe? Humm ^o)

I got paranoid too, even though I don't really care about that...

Anyways, I have disabled cookies in Firefox for anything except hotmail (doesn't work without cookies) and these forums :)

Your all a bunch of pussys.

Whoop, they drop a cookie on your system. Well, if they cant, there still tracking every last thing you do and could eaisly track it back to your computer with a minimal ammount of work.

I guarantee that Yahoo, Altavista, Hotmail, etc.... log EVERYTHING! If nothing else, in there server logs, everythings there. If you want real privacy on the internet, your out of luck.

Well you would be too after what people have been searching for on Google. Like for example Warez, hacking, virus making ext. I cant say I haven’t search for things in which I could get in trouble for like warez, cracks, full games, hacking games ext.

Well yea of course they log every thing its for there own safety. Hell I would log every thing too if I had my own Search Engine. But what I’m trying to say is how much do they log. Do they go far and beyond just logging the things you search for? Do they log your computer functions? Say if they see you searching for "Hacking" (lets just use that for now) would they really be nosey and to be the hero, check out your computer to stop you. Well that’s what I don't know. I'm sure there’s many guidelines they have to obey by before doing so but still it's a bit uncomforting knowing that people of a search engine would get in such and act of "Spying" or "Hunting the bad guy".

And don't tell me you haven’t searched for unlawful content. C’mon every one does. So your not perfect.

Again, how are they gonna "check out your computer"? They can't....
Besides, searching for "hacking" doesn't mean you're doing something illegal...

of course, just like every other search site, and they wont break them, otherwise they don't exist long...

They wont, they can't....

In short: stop being so paranoid you all and leanr facts and don't believe everything you read on the internet....

If you have nothing to hide why are you worried? What? You think that they sort through the millions of logged people's data and find out exactly what they've been doing?
