is there a way to save logs in differente folders for different contacts like:


- main log folder
   |- user1@hotmail.com
     |- user1 LOG FILE1.txt
     |- user1 LOG FILE2.txt
     |- user1 LOG FILE3.txt
   |- user2@hotmail.com
     |- user2 LOG FILE1.txt
     |- user2 LOG FILE2.txt
     |- user2 LOG FILE3.txt
   |- user3@hotmail.com
     |- user3 LOG FILE1.txt
     |- user3 LOG FILE2.txt
     |- user3 LOG FILE3.txt

(thats a treeview...)
and so on....

um, i think if you go to Plus>preferences>logging> archiving> "create a different directory  for each file"

or thise could do something completely different lets say if you were naming a folder "people i hardly talk to" you dont have to keep their logs i dont know. carry on...

well i dont think feature is that hard to implement...

well try immagining 2 or more ppl using the same messenger.
now if those users talk to the same ppl, their logs will get saved on the same file. that isnt very good cause u might want to check some log and find some conversation that u didnt had and u werent supposed to know it existed...

well about dif directory for each file.. it doesnt helps, cause now it creates a diff folder for each contact that we talk to, but the logs of different useres that sign in keep being loged in the same files

after looking again at what you have posted !

messenger plus can already do this.

log into your first account and go to
plus > preferences > logging > logs directory
and change the log directory to ( 1st addy )@hotmail.com


then log onto your 2nd account and go to
plus > preferences > logging > logs directory
and change the log  directory to ( 2nd addy )@hotmail.com


then when you come to your log directory it will be like this

My chat logs:
-(1st addy)@hotmail.com
  - july
     - chatlog1@hotmail.com
     - chatlog2@hotmail.com
  - august
     - chatlog1@hotmail.com
     - chatlog2@hotmail.com

- (2nd addy)@hotmail.com
  - july
     - chatlog1@hotmail.com
     - chatlog2@hotmail.com
  - august
     - chatlog3@hotmail.com
     - chatlog4@hotmai.com

well thanks... didnt thought about that. still, is annoying to change the path, but it's a solution. my idea was to make it automatically with a folder with the user's name

do u mean your username ? or you contacts name ?

either way i can see the point of this ? it wouls just leave you with loads of folders that would be hard to navigate

why dont u just make another folder and copy ur stuff into there?

He wants it to be done automaticaly. I like the idea tbh, and yes it would be usefull.
