O.P. network setup?
Hi, im trying to network together my two windows XP pro computers linking them through a router. I have run the network setup wizard on both and on one everthing appears to be fine other than i cannot access the other computer tho it recognises its there the other however will not allow me to see the rest of the network. I think it is a problem with the second computer. Neither have a firewall on them so that rules that out. I have tried re running the network wizard and that has done nothing to help the situation.

Any advise?

are you sure they don't have firewall turned on ???? (windows built in firewall, mite be on) try.....

start > network connections > local area connection (or what ever yours is called) > advanced (top tab) > setting >

then select off and press ok

RE: network setup?
do both computers have a valid IP and net mask? (something like 192.168.1.xx for IP and 255.255.255.0 for net mask) Also, do you have NetBIOS and/or NetBEUI enabled on both computers?
