i chatted with my friend on her table pc and she writes msgs to me, but messenger plus don't seem to save them (they are sent as images). It would be nice if that was supported in the next version.

Well, it won't be in the next version. It has been suggested long time ago and then it wasn't included either, so I don't know if it will be included ever.
Anyway, don't worry because you still can save those handwritten messages: In the conversation window, go to File > Save as... and choose rtf format. You're done!
