i download and install the verified stuffplug-ng plugin from the official website, everything is great; but then in Messenger Plus under 'plugins' nothing is listed still.

is this a known issue? i'm using 98se, latest version of msn messenger and Messenger Plus. i've tried reinstalling about a million times.

i had a quick look down the forum to look for any obvious answers but i didn't see any.

did you close * messenger and restarted it?

* -> not only sign out, but also close messenger completly from the icon in the task bar.

where is the StuffPlug-NG located in what directory and make sure its in the msn messenger folder

No, it should be under Plus\Plugins folders (usually located at C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 3\Plugins). There you should have a file called StuffPlug-NG.dll and a folder called StuffPlug-NG.

yup, i have them both.

i have the folder StuffPlug-NG and Stuffplug-NG.dll.
i tried quitting msn, installing, then opening msn.
then i tried installing with msn on, then restarting msn.
then i tried both of those and restarting my computer.

then i also tried putting the setup file in the plugins directory and installing it. nothing is working, it never appears in the 'plugins' tab.

other plugins like file transfer plus work, by the way..

So, if you go to Plus! > Preferences > Plugins, it doesn't show up in the list? Try this:
Close Messenger.
Go to Start > Run, write "regedit" and press Enter.
Open the tree following this path:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    Software
      Patchou
        MsgPlus2
Click the + next to MsgPlus2 and if you see a folder named "stuffplug-ng", right-click it and click Delete.

Now open the tree following this path:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    Software
      Patchou
        MsgPlus2
          <your e-mail>
            Preferences
              Plugins
Click the + next to Plugins and if you see a folder named "stuffplug-ng.dll", right-click it and click Delete.
Restart Messenger, log-in into your account and go to Plus > Preferences > Plugins. Does it show up there now?

Important note:
What I described above is editing the registry. The registry is very important for Windows to be able to start and work correctly, so you should be always be very careful. If you follow my instructions exactly then nothing will happen, you'll just reset StuffPlug options.

deleted the stuffplug reg keys for my email and also "Nobody", but still nothing.
closed msn before doing it.

it still wont show up under the plugins tab.

Then I would suggest a clean reinstall. Or maybe TheBlasphemer could say something, send him a private message.
