I think that having accessible options is the best way to make users use them. It's clearer and easier for new users and faster for advanced users.
like I said previously in another thread about something similar: You normaly wouldn't constantly move and remove contacts from your desktop I think. Once the important ones are there so to speak, you wont use it anymore, they stay there.....
Also, if you gonna ad this to the titlebar, then you can also add other features (usefull for advanced users and more accessable to new people) to the titlebar, and where do you draw the line?
Also, if I'm not mistaken and like said before, this would be lots of programming just to implement 1 small thing on the titlebar while it can easly be implemented in one of the three Plus! menu's that already exist in a conversation.... Too much choice isn't good also! This will confuse people also.
Also, if something like that is added to the titlebar, then ok, maybe it is going to be used more, but the people will also forget that there are menu's with lots of other stuff. And I see this happening day in day out already on the forums and on IRC, where people simply don't seem to know that there are menu's to be used where lots of options can be set and things to done...
Also, if it is added, then either Plus! puts in the titlebar. This means many people will not see it anyway, cause they haven't the border visible. Or either it is added like you showed in that screenshot, but then you will get people who are want it gone, cause it beeps up their layout and skins... etc... etc....
in short: no, to much fuzz and handling and stuff for just 1 thing....
just my 2 cents
(ps: if it is added, then I don't care though, I wouldn't use it, but I will find it waste of time and effort)
EDIT: gosh... I've reread this after a couple of hours.... sorry if it sounded too harsh
