I was wondeing if anyone could tell me how to make a login page this is what i got so far

i wanna know how to make it to where it will accept only certaing usernames and p.ws and when the person hits login it will allow them to veiw a page thats off limits to others (im not trying to hide anything im just testing this out cause me and my friends wanna make a school website and we are gonna make it to where only certain people hinting only people from the school can enter) can anyone help.

u need to send the info to a script (specified in the form tag's action field), which will then verify the username and pasword.

u'r gonna need some sort of scripting language, like PHP or ASP or summit

no need to enclose the submit button in anchor tags.....

you could use javascript, that would be easiest way, no need for a server or anything. some schools dont support PHP or ASP so javascript is your best option. search here for some login scripts and edit source code...

my host that i use to host my site offers exactly what you are looking for, for example www.hostrocket.com.  you prob are not looking for it all, and want to challenge this and make it your own, but if anyone else is reading, some hosts offer this service for free!
