can somebody list all of the best programs?
such as:
1) Anti-virus/firewall
2) spyware/addware remover
3) photo editing app
4) video converting/editing
5) windows tweaking

i'm asking this because, i want to burn all the latest programs on a dvd (4.7 gig)

and i want to format my computer after......not needing to download all the programs again

Mine is:

Norton AntiVirus
Msn Messenger
Messenger Plus!
PaintShop Pro (now that im gettin good w/ it )
Ad-aware pro
Spybot S&D
WinAmp

And alot others that are vital, too me that is...

1) Symantec Antivirus/Symantec Firewall/Kerio Personal Firewall
2) Ad-Aware SE Professional
3) Adobe Photoshop & AutoFX software
4) --
5) TweakNOW PowerPack 2005 Professional

1. i just use the firewall in windows, well sp2 stuff, it works well for me.  or norton antivirus, its simple to use

he didnt ask for what programs were the best to you, sean...he wanted what we though was best of the thigns he listed so he could get them...

5. Regedit! Seriously though, you should be able to make most of the tweaks manually, but TweakXP is a good utility.
6. Fruity Loops - Best Audio Mixer for PC. MIDI Input, VSTi & DXi plugin support, 100s of loops, effects, etc.

thanks everybody for all your help, i'll later on post all the programs that i have saved. to let you know what i have....

1) norton/zonealarm

2) spybot S&D/ad-aware

3) Photoshop/ImageReady CS and also a very good program to use is Illustrator CS.. has other options and in a combination with PS it's very great

4) VIDEO/AUDIO:  Premiere 6.5/windows movie maker/virtual dub mod/EO video/helix producer/camtasia studio     
    AUDIO: adobe audition is by far the best program, also use dBpowerAMP for converting al types to other types of audio files (mp3,wav,ogg,wma,ra,aac ect)

5) no idea at all


A other programs I suggest is Flash MX 2004
