Well anyway, after finally getting it installed etc, I now cannot sign into my account..........it tries for a few seconds then stops. A friend however can log onto his account from this computer and I have been able to log into an older account too. Any ideas whats wrong?

I think it's your listcache... Try searching for files named "listcache.dat" and delete them all.

Thats not because md that have hapenned to me 3 times and i tried exactly the same and i asked a friend to log in with mine and it worked
since tday i dontunderstand that.
If anyone knows what it is reply plz.

Local Disk (C:/ usually)-->Documents and Settings-->(your current user)-->Application Data-->Microsoft -->MSN Messenger you will see a couple of folders there just delete them all and try again

it'll take some time to log in but will sign-in

that is the same thing as Millenium_edition suggested seeing as it is removing the listcache.dat files...........however i tried it and still no luck

Before deleting anything, try going to Messenger > Tools > Options > Connection and make sure "Use a proxy server" is unchecked.
BTW, those names can be different, I have the Spanish version, so I don't know what are the exact names in English.

yep thats definately unchecked..........i dont understand why i can sign in perfectly well on some accounts and not on the one i want to use

yeah i have to uninstall discovery to log back in, as soon as i reinstall it, i cannot login my account at all, just i want to use discovery
