how bout allowing animated gifs as display pics? so everyone can see!

already suggested like a lot of times (use the search option)

wrong section of the forum (should be in MsgPlus General Talk, coz it's a Plus! suggestion, no a MSN Messenger one )

Yep we do

But anyways, don't confuse "Deluxe Display Pictures" with "animated Display pictures". Although the Deluxe Display Pictures are also animated, it will proberly NOT be what you expect it to be:

The "Deluxe Display Pictures" are animated GIF's and they are shown in a seperate box. Think of them as avatars on a forum. All this is shown in a seperate box besides the normal static display picture that we know.

So you see, "Animated Display Pictures" are something people want. "Deluxe Display Pictures" (which are completely different) are the things you get with the Korean addon called PowerPlus.

All this integration is an "experiment" and PowerPlus is only available in Korean and is a payed service. Microsoft never said they would include it for every language, etc. In fact it is up to the company that made PowerPlus to translate their product, not up to Microsoft. And they never dismissed the idea also. They said they were gonna add it on a local basis, and they did.

But as said previously most people don't read the facts, but read what they wanted to read. So that's why the confusion and rumours started.

Yeh but as its unavailable at this time we dont really know yet.... so basicly we have to wait no matter how reliable NeoWin are

I'd be neat to have Animated Emotions. I know it was suggested before. But that was a few months ago. And its nice to dream...

With all respect to Neowin, but they use "Deluxe Display Pictures" and "Animated Display Pictures" as synonyms, which they aren't! And many people will indeed read "Animated Display Pictures", while instead it should be "Deluxe Display pictures"....

Yes, there is a very huge difference between the two. "Animated Display Pictures" is the thing we all want, "Deluxe Display Pictures" (=service to be payed for!) is the crappy thing that Messenger gives us...

But, I actually do hope that I am completely wrong though, and that this time the DP's _will_ be the "Animated Display Pictures"...
